Context

An 800-acre elite multi-sport boarding school in Geneva, Ohio, with a compelling story and no national profile.

SPIRE engaged Three Horizons in late 2024 with new leadership, real ambition, and the foundation of a category-defining sports academy. The job was to match the brand and the press to the ambition, and position SPIRE alongside the IMGs of the world.

The work spanned everything the brand needed to break through.

  • Embedded the team
Acted as SPIRE’s PR, communications, and brand function, supporting the full marketing operation.
  • Evolved the brand
Led a design and brand refresh to match the ambition and a more national audience.
  • Built the executive voice
Developed thought leadership for the executive team, putting SPIRE’s leaders in the conversation alongside the most respected names in youth and elite sports.
  • Earned the coverage
Drove an earned media strategy that turned hires, partnerships, and milestones into national stories, connecting PR directly to the business.

The results put SPIRE in the national conversation.

  • Announced the $6M Vensure partnership, the largest sponsorship deal in youth sports history.
  • Coverage of Kevin Boyle’s arrival, the NEASC accreditation as the first athletic boarding school in the country, the launch of the SPIRE Performance Research Institute, and the Kaulig Racing NASCAR sponsorship.
  • Elevated SPIRE into the national conversation among the most innovative sports academies and prep schools in the country.
